March Break 2019 – Grand Tour of Italy

Students have an opportunity to immerse themselves in the art, history and architecture of Italy during a 10-day Grand Tour of Italy. We will start off our trip in Venice exploring the Grand Canal, St. Mark’s Square as well as a gondola ride! We then move on to Florence to check out the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio and the leaning Tower of Pisa. In Assisi, we will visit the Basilica of St. Francis, while in the Sorrento region we will visit Pompeii! We finish off our tour in Rome visiting the Colosseum, Roman Forum, St. Peter’s Basilica, Sistine Chapel and so much more. This trip is open to students in all grades. Musical Theatre Annual Revue

On Thursday October 18th, Rosedale’s Musical Theatre Program presents our annual revue. This year, it’s titled “What You Want!”.

The show is at 7pm, and acts as a fundraiser for our main stage show in April. Tickets are $10. Tickets go on sale starting Monday at lunch in the box office, or can be purchased at the door the night of the show. Hope to see you there!

Minister of Foreign Affairs Visits Rosedale

RHSA’s very own grade 11 student Brianna Andrews, in partnership with World Vision Canada, organized a visit by the Honourable Chrystia Freeland. Watch Ms. Freeland consult with RHSA students as they provide recommendations and ideas for the Women Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.

Curriculum Night

Have you ever wondered if it truly takes 15 minutes to get from the dance studios to the geography rooms? What does your child’s drama teacher really look like?  And how often do our math teachers actually hold tests?  Find the answers to these and other questions at our curriculum night on Thursday, September 27th, 2018, when you’ll have an opportunity to experience an abbreviated version of your son or daughter’s timetable. Here’s the agenda:

  • 5:30–6:00 p.m.          Timetables and schedules available
  • 6:00 p.m.                  Auditorium “Assembly”
  • 6:15 p.m.                  Dismissal to attend classes
  • 6:30-8:30 p.m.           Modified 2-day class schedule

In addition to our classroom teachers and administrators, there will also be a guidance counsellor in the guidance office throughout the evening to discuss university entrance and other issues of concern to parents.

First Day of School

The first day of school this year is Tuesday, September 4th, 2018. Timetables will be available for collection in the gym from 8:30am – 9:30am. If you are a grade 9 student who attended the orientation day on August 30th, you have your timetable already so you don’t need to arrive until 9:30 am. Here’s the schedule for the first day of school:

  • Home Form (Day 1, Period 1): 9:30 – 10:15 am
  • Day 1, Period 2: 10:20 – 10:50 am
  • Day 1, Period 3: 10:55 – 11:25 am
  • Day 1, Period 4: 11:30 – 12:00 pm

We wish our new and returning students much success in the forthcoming academic year, and we’ll see you all on Tuesday.

School Cash Online

Dear Parent/Guardian,

The Toronto District School Board is launching School Cash Online, an easy to use, safe and convenient way for parents/guardians to pay for the school activity fee which includes the school agenda and a yearbook.  School Cash Online will be available for sign up immediately.

Some school fees such as SAC fees, applicable to your child will be posted on School Cash Online. Once you register, you can choose to purchase the items or activities using a debit or credit card. You will be able to see when the school has a new item posted online for purchase and you will also have the option to be notified whenever your child has a new school event requiring payment.

Registration is already open.  To register for School Cash Online, please visit https://tdsb.schoolcashonline.com select “Get Started Today” and complete the three registration steps. For more information on the registration process, please see the handout. Once registered, you will receive an email notification when items or fees become available online.

If you have questions about the registration process or any questions about using School Cash Online, please select the “Get Help” option on the top of School Cash Online web page. You can also contact the School Cash Online Parent Help Desk at 1-866-961-1803 or by email using the following email address: parenthelp@schoolcashonline.com.  The Parent Help Desk is available to assist you with the registration process, password recovery, accessing your account or payment issues.
