The Social Science Department at Rosedale offers students opportunities to explore the past, present and potential development of Canada and other countries of the world. Students will broaden their understanding of the world and of themselves, thus preparing them for life in the twenty-first century.
- In the junior programme, students study Canadian and world geography in Grade 9 and Canadian history in Grade 10. Both courses build research and inquiry skills needed for the senior program.
- Students in Grade 9 learn beyond the classroom by exploring both urban and rural landscapes. Students in Grade 10 connect with history by visiting Toronto’s 20th century museums.
- The senior program at Rosedale offers students a wide variety of options. Students may choose courses in subjects as diverse as law, religion, geography, history, psychology, sociology, and anthropology.
